Abigail White
Abi’s introduction to Pilates started back in 1988 as a dancer. After a relatively late start into ballet at the age of 12, she later becoming soloist of Perth City Ballet, touring Europe with the company before returning to Perth to study and graduate from the WA Academy of Performing Arts. However, she was plagued by a string of injuries and was drawn to Pilates for it’s balancing, correcting technique and individualised care.

Abi trained in the method a Sydney studio and stayed on there to teach for the following 2 1/2 years.

In 1995, Abi returned to Perth and was invited to set up a Pilates studio in a physiotherapy practice where she stayed on as co-ordinator and teacher for the next 2 1/2 years.

Abi opened , Prescriptive Fitness in 1998 in Claremont, where the studio now operates from with the help of four other staff members to contain over 130 bookings a week.

In the last few years Abi has worked closely with the WAIS swim team, giving numerous floor classes and lectures on Pilates. She has also been guest teacher to both the National Tip Top Swim training camp and also the Australian Swimming’s Select Coaches workshop in Brisbane, ’99. When not teaching in the studio Abi continues to train elite swimmers from the WA swim squad.

After five years in business, she looks forward to working with her new affiliate, "International Pilates Training Centre" based in Sydney and the many training course and seminars they will be running at her premises in 2002 and beyond.

 


Hydie Pallier
After graduating with distinction from the WA Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Arts (Dance), Hydie moved to Melbourne to pursue her career as a professional dancer. Whilst there Hydie danced with various state dance companies and concurrently undertook personal studies in anatomy as well as practice in the Pilates method.

Over the next four year period Hydie worked with Craig Philips B.App.Sc (Phyt) MAPA at Dance Medicine Australia as a Pilates Instructor. It was here that she aquired her Clinical Pilates Instructor levels 1, 2, 3 and 4.

As well as teaching classes at the studio, Hydie also conducts floor classes for varied fitness enthusiasts as well as Pilates method workshops for physiotherapists and exercise physiologists, as it’s clinical applications are her main focus of interest.

She has conducted introductory floor workshops for students at Curtin University as well as further workshops incorporating reformer/trap-table techniques.

Hydie has been instructing in Perth at Prescriptive Fitness for one and a half years and has recently been working closely with a manipulative therapist specialising in post operative/ post natal recovery.

Having an extensive professional dance background, the Pilates method remains the main component of her personal fitness regime.


Rachael Whitworth
A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts in dance, Rachael has used her ballet training to combine careers as both Pilates instructor / dance teacher and as a highly successful dancer and performing artist.

Whilst a student at the VCA Rachael had her first introduction to Pilates and studied it intensively. As a promising student she won numerous grants and scholarships for her ballet training, later going on to dance professionally with the WA Ballet Company for several seasons. She has since spent several years with Buzz Dance Company as a contemporary dancer and dance teacher. After this time she has been employed as a freelance performer.

Rachael has continued to teach Pilates in between her professional performing engagements at Prescriptive Fitness and is currently in the process of completing her international certification with Body, Arts and Science.


Jasmine Kime

Jasmine was educated at St Mary’s Anglican Girls School WA. She completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Accounting at Murdoch University.

Currently employed with Ernst & Young in the Assurance and Advisory Services Division (Audit). Jasmine has had a strong interest in Dance having studied Jazz, Modern and Classical for ten years at the Contemporary Dance Centre in Nedlands.

During the past five years, Jasmine as been activly involed in teaching Pilates with Abi White.

Jasmine is also the State Administrator for the International Pilates Training Centre.
